UGH!!!!!!!!!! ( Insert loud yell, hair pulling and a BIG sigh )
Well.... their goes Rugby season this 15's! ( 15's for Rugby... ) ;) . A month or so ago, Jacob told Devin and myself that his right hand was "kinda" sore. Well, that "kinda" sore ended up after a drive to urgent Care, X-rays and a 2 1/2 hour visit.. a Boxer Break
Boxer's Fracture Overview
A boxer's fracture is defined as a break through the bones of the hand that form the knuckles. Some doctors use the term "brawler's fracture" rather than "boxer's fracture" because a boxer is not likely to get this injury. The less well-trained brawlers have to learn how to punch without hurting themselves.
Well, Jacob didn't end up punching anything. We found out that a friend of his had done something that was total accident! Causing a break in the pinky... leading to surgery... leading to a plate and 6 screws in his hand, leading to 4 weeks of physical therapy! ... leading to a 15 year old boy who realized Rugby was out of the question for this season, sad and upset! Instead of being upset, Devin mentioned to him that he could still practice skills during the season! Kicking! It doesn't require contact, tackling or contact with another player! His amazing coach agreed that kicking would be perfect for him!
He still will go to every game, every practice and every meeting. Why? Because that's his team, he's a part of a group like one big family! That's what the team is about! They support Jacob, sad that he's not playing, but happy to see him show up and not give up!
